How payments work
Everything that happens to your money, in order, with nothing left vague. If a page elsewhere on JMO BizHub says your payment is protected, this is what it means.
1. Who processes the payment
Payments are processed by Flutterwave. The provider is Flutterwave Technology Solutions Limited, trading as Flutterwave. Card and bank details are entered on Flutterwave’s own checkout page — JMO BizHub never sees or stores them.
Payment processing and settlement are subject to Flutterwave’s own terms and to the regulatory requirements that apply to them.
2. Where the money sits until the work is approved
Between payment and release the money sits in JMO BizHub’s account with Flutterwave, and JMO BizHub is responsible for paying it on. The payment is recorded against your job in our ledger from the moment it clears, and the provider cannot draw on it while the job is open.
This is not escrow. Escrow is a specific legal arrangement in which an independent third party holds money for both sides under an escrow agreement. That is not what happens here, and we do not describe it that way. What you have is a contractual commitment from JMO BizHub: we hold the payment and release it only on the conditions set out below.
3. When the provider gets paid
The money is released to the provider when one of these happens:
- You approve the delivered work. This is the normal route, and it is immediate.
- The approval window passes. After a provider marks work as delivered, you have a set period to approve it or raise a dispute. If you do neither, it approves automatically — otherwise a provider who has done the work could be left unpaid indefinitely.
- A dispute is resolved in the provider’s favour, in whole or in part.
On release, JMO BizHub’s commission is deducted and the rest becomes the provider’s balance. The provider is then paid out to their bank account, after a short fraud-screening hold. Payouts go to a bank account whose name must match the provider’s verified name.
4. If the order or service is cancelled
- Before the provider accepts — the job is withdrawn and, if your payment had already cleared, it is refunded in full.
- By mutual agreement while the money is held — the payment is returned to you in full.
- If the checkout never opened — nothing was charged at all, and the job is withdrawn automatically.
Refunds are returned through Flutterwave to the method you paid with. How long that takes to appear is set by your bank, not by us.
5. If you disagree about the work
Either side can raise a dispute at any point while the money is held. That freezes the release immediately — automatic approval stops and nothing moves until it is settled. A dispute can end in release to the provider, a full refund to you, or a split. The full process is in the Dispute Policy.
6. What JMO BizHub charges
Buyers pay the listed price — the commission comes out of the provider’s side, not on top of yours. The rate in force when a job is funded is fixed to that job and does not change afterwards, even if our rates change later. Every deduction is itemised on the job.
7. What we do not claim
- We do not describe this arrangement as escrow, because it is not escrow.
- We do not claim to be a licensed payment institution. We are not one, and we do not process payments ourselves.
- We name our payment provider rather than pointing vaguely at an unnamed regulated company, so that you can check them for yourself.
